The value of fringe benefits granted by companies in Romania increased by 19% last year compared to 2014.

Most of them include food vouchers, and medical or gym subscriptions, according to data by HR consultancy company Smartree.

The companies in the IT&C sector as well as those in the pharma industry granted last year the highest fringe benefits. On the other hand, the employees in the retail sector received the less valuable benefits in 2015.

The average bonuses for the winter holidays amounted to RON 785 (EUR 173).

The fringe benefits offered by local companies fall into two categories, namely monthly and occasional benefits.
