From chewing gums to chocolate: Former Wrigley Romania manager becomes head of Kandia Dulce
The former head of Wrigley România, Mihai Georgescu, will take over the helm of chocolate producer Kandia Dulce in the beginning of September. He will replace Gerald Neumair, the president of the board, who acted as interim manager between January and September 2013.
The 47-year old executive became head of Wrigley România in 1992, when the company entered the local market. In 2001, he became the country manager of Wrigley Poland, and between 2004 and 2013, the managing director of Wrigley Balkan East. Wrigley Romania sells chewing gums, as well as hard and soft candy, jellies and mints.
Earlier in April this year, he left the multinational group to become the vicepresident of the local group Grivco, controlled by politician and media investor Dan Voiculescu. He was to lead the consumer goods segment of the group.
Kandia Dulce produces chocolate and candies under the brands Rom, Măgura, Primola, Kandia, Laura, Novatini, Cremita, Sugus and Silvana. Together with Heidi Chocolat, Kandia Dulce is part of the Kex Confectionery, group, owned by the Austrian Meinl family.
