The Romanian cheese donuts papanasi,  fruit pies and pancakes were the most ordered desserts on Valentine’s Day in Romania, both separately and as options in lunch menus, according to online food delivery platform foodpanda.

Even if Romanians prefer traditional sweets, they also ordered more elaborate desserts, such as creme brulee, mousse au chocolat or panna cotta.

“In the following period, we expect an overall increase in orders, especially since the days of March 1st and March 8th are Saturdays, an ideal day for lovers who chose to celebrate in the privacy of their homes,  with a romantic dinner for two,”  said Dan Macarie, country manager foodpanda Romania.

Founded in 2012, foodpanda.ro currently collaborates with some 200 restaurants in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
