Fuel for electricity and heat costs EUR 1 bln this winter in Romania
The fuel required for the production of electricity and heat in Romania between October 1, 2015, and March 31, 2016, will cost RON 4.6 billion (about EUR 1 billion), up by 2% compared to the previous year.
The power & heat producers that are under the authority of the Energy Ministry require EUR 827 million, whereas energy companies managed by municipalities need EUR 195.3 million.
The National Prognosis Commission has estimated a drop of 7.2% in the consumption of electricity between October 2015 and March 2016, whereas the National Energy Dispatcher has estimated a growth of 3.6% on average in electricity consumption during the same period.
