Gabriela Bordea replaces Ruxandra Brutaru as CEO of Romania's Tarom airline

Gabriela Bordea, the former director of sales and marketing of Romanian state-owned airline Tarom has recently taken the company's CEO seat, replacing Ruxandra Brutaru, who resigned in March. Brutaru is now the company's vicepresident.

Gabriela Bordea began working with Tarom in 1973. Throughout her career she worked in all areas of the company’s directorate of marketing and sales. Between 1982 and 1985 she was named Tarom's representative in Paris, between 1990 and 1996 she served as a representative of the airline operator in Brussels and between 1999 and 2004 she represented Tarom in Tel Aviv.  From 2007 until 2009 she served as head of sales and in 2009 was named director of marketing and sales at Tarom.

Tarom operates under Romania's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and become a member of the SkyTeam alliance in June last year. The company estimates a turnover of EUR 340 million for this year and more than 2.4 million passengers, after last year's preliminary number rose to 2.2 million passengers.
