The Romanian and Moldovan authorities have signed the agreement to commission the gas pipe between the Romanian city of Iasi and Ungheni in Moldova.
The pipe will be operated by Romanian state owned company Transgaz and by Vestmoldtransgaz. The cost of the pipe was some EUR 26 million, below budget, according to Romania’s energy minister Razvan Nicolescu.
The interconnection pipe will be operational starting the end of August and the first gas exchanges between Romania and Moldova will be possible at the beginning of September.
