Gas producers and suppliers in Romania have to sell part of production on local exchanges from July
Gas producers and suppliers will be forced to trade “minimum quantities” of their production on local specialized exchanges, such as commodities exchange BRM and the energy trading platform OPCOM, as of July this year.
“The quantities of natural gas from domestic production traded on centralized market can’t be less than 20 percent of the quantities of natural gas from own production intended for sale, and are exclusively destined to the competitive gas market,” according to a draft of the Romanian energy authority ANRE, quoted by local Mediafax.
By the end of this year, ANRE will draw the methodology under which such transactions can be carried out for the period between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2018.
