Geology Museum in Bucharest marks Earth Day 2017 with free guided tours
The National Geology Museum in Bucharest will open its doors to visitors this Saturday (April 22), when it will mark Earth Day 2017 with free guided tours.
The museum’s specialists will guide the visitors throughout Earth’s history, explaining how every chain link in the evolution of our planet is connected to a beneficial “disaster” that created the current image of the Earth.
“Knowing the tumultuous history of the planet, we’ll understand better that the Earth has countless opportunities to ensure the survival of future generations. It’s up to us how we’ll manage the things that Earth, in its immensity, can offer to us,” reads a statement from the Museum.
Thus, on April 22 – Earth Day, the entry at the museum will be free. Tours will be organized from 11:00 to 15:00 based on prior appointments, for groups of minimum 10 and maximum 25 visitors.
The first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970. Since then, countries around the world have been marking this day to bring into focus the need to protect the environment, and to raise awareness of the need to preserve the world's natural resources.
