George Enescu Festival puts Romania among prestigious tourist destinations
The "George Enescu" Festival 2011 has been included in an annual selection of the most prestigious tourist destinations compiled by Austrian magazine Gewinn. Although it’s not actually a ranking, Romania sits on the 16th place as a tourist destination, recommended for the 2011 “George Enescu” Festival. The recommendation is accompanied by an image of the Romanian Athenaeum concert hall in Bucharest.
Information about accommodation offers, tourist services, partner hotels, tickets, dates when they will be offered for sale and a link of the festival site have also been included in the article.
The George Enescu Festival, which takes place every two years, was established in 1958 as a sign of recognition of Enescu's genius and as homage to the great Romanian composer's life and creation. Earlier editions of this festival and contest gathered famous names of the international musical stage of that time, among whom Yehudi Menuhin, David Oistrach, Sviatoslav Richter and Herbert von Karajan.
