George Popescu, the general manager of Amway Romania, will be the new manager of the European sales department within Atlas, a company's project that represents a strategic priority for Amway Europe, according to company representatives. He will start the new activity as soon as a new managing director for Amway Romania will be recruited, no later than January, 2012.

George Popescu began his career at Amway in 1997 as a programmer-IT analyst, and then software developer at Amway Corporation-U.S. until 2002, then promoted as IT Project Manager for East Europe. From this position, George Popescu has been involved in several projects, such as Amway business opening in Ukraine in 2003 and in Russia in 2005. He has been general manager at Amway Romania over the past six years.

Amway Romania was founded in 1997 and now operates in the whole country through 50,000 Amway authorized private entrepreneurs and 35 employees. The company is headquartered in Bucharest.
