Georgina Harding’s book set in ‘50s in Romania launched in London

The British writer Georgina Harding’s book ‘Painter of Silence’ was recently launched at the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in London. The novel published by Bloomsbury – one of the most prominent publishing houses in London, presents different angles of the dramatic Romanian 50s.
‘Painter of Silence’ tells the story of a moving friendship between Augustin, an odd man who is found on the steps of a hospital in a Moldovan village, who starts to draw in order to retell his life, and Safta, a nurse and also the only one who understands his drawings.
Georgina Harding is the author of the novel 'The Solitude of Thomas Cave' - Bloomsbury, 2007. Her second novel ‘The Spy Game’ was shortlisted for The Encore Award 2011.
