Gerard Chandran, the new GM of Kraft Foods Romania
Kraft Foods has appointed Gerard Chandran as its new general manager for Romania, the company has announced. Chandran joined Kraft Foods in 2006, when he took over the management in South Africa, after his term in the management team of Gilette.
Gerard Sebastian Chandran will replace Lachlan Grave, who has been running the local Kraft subsidiary since 2008. Chandran, 57, has been occupying the new position since the beginning of this month.
Kraft Foods has recently sold the Romanian confectionery business Cadbury- Kandia to an investment fund controlled by Meinl, which was the original seller of the confectionery business. Kraft Foods had bought Cadbury for GBP 11.9 billion in January this year. Cadbury had invested in local Kandia Excelent in 2007 from Axis Investments and Meinl Bank in a deal worth EUR 99.4 million
Kraft Foods is selling various products in Romania, among which Poiana, Milka and Toblerone chocolate bars and Jacobs and Nova Brasilia coffee brands.
