German do-it-yourself retailer Hornbach opened in Sibiu its sixth store in Romania, with a total area of 12,000 sqm, following an investment of EUR 12 million.

The new store is located on the plot of a former OBI location, acquired in the fall of 2014 when OBI decided to exit the local market. Hornbach has refurbished and expanded the location. The store is located in the north of Sibiu, close to the Sibiu Nord highway.

The new store has three distinct areas, like all the Hornbach units. The first one, with a surface of 7,600 sqm, included light construction materials, tools, and decorations. The second one, which covers 2,700 sqm, has an area for gardening and zoo products, whereas the third one has heavy and bulky building materials.

Hornbach also has stores in Bucharest, Brasov, and Timisoara.
