German official: Romania risks losing EUR 6.6 bln EU funds
Gunther Krichbaum, President of the European Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, said that Germany was skeptic about the tax cuts in Romania as long as the country didn’t manage to successfully access European funds.
Romania risks losing EUR 6.6 billion by the end of the year, Krichbaum added, cited by local Capital.ro.
He made a visit in Bucharest, leading a delegation of Bundestag, where he met the central bank governor Mugur Isarescu. He also met the president of the Constitutional Court Augustin Zegrean and talked about the emergency ordinances issued by the Romanian government.
It’s debatable if it’s good to have such a high number of emergency ordinances, which get to produce judicial effects, without the involvement of the Parliament, Krichbaum said.
