German retailer Lidl re-brands 107 stores in Romania

German retailer Lidl has recently re-branded 107 stores in Romania that it bought last year from Plus Discount. The retailer has recently opened the stores under its brand and has started works on opening new units under the Lidl brand.

Lidl bought Plus discount in February last year. The retailer enters a market shared by several international chains, with the main players being Profi, Macro – the former Minimax, Kaufland of the Lidl & Schwartz group, and Penny, part of Rewe group.

Lidl is part of the Lidl & Schwartz group, which also owns the Kaufland stores in Romania.
