Goldart: Most expensive art work sold in Romania for 0.3 mln in 2013

Goldart auction house recorded in 2013 a “slight” increase of 10 percent in sales compared to the previous year with Luminita Ghildus, general manager of Goldart-Ghildush, describing the period as being “a difficult year”.

“We sold 640 works of fine art, we recorded the most important sale on the Romanian art market, namely ‘Doua Fete’ (Two Muses) by Stefan Luchian, which was sold for EUR 300,000,” said Luminita Ghildus, quoted by local Wall-street.ro

Some other top works sold in 2013 during Goldart auctions were Dormind - EUR 46,000 and Natura Statica cu Peste - EUR 40,000 by Gheorghe Petrascu, Nicolae Tonitza’s Nud, sold for EUR 40,000 and Flori in Vas Albastru by Theodor Pallady, sold for EUR 32,000.

Goldart-Ghildush auction house recently organized a press conference during which it presented its plans for 2014, starting with the first auction to be organized on January 27.

Besides art auctions, Goldart will continue to organize several other events, such as cultural meetings, book launches and concerts and shows.
