Google Chrome takes over as the most popular browser in Romania, Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer lose market share
Google Chrome has become the most popular browser in Romania, with a market share of 43.7 percent in April 2013, up from some 33 percent in April last year, according to data provided by StatCounter Global Stats. Firefox, which in April last year ranked first among the top 5 browsers in Romania with a share of 36 percent, ranks second this year with 33.4 percent.
Microsoft’s Internet Explorer ranked third in April 2013 with just 15.5 percent - down from over 22 percent recorded in April last year, followed by Opera with a share of 3.8 percent. Safari is the final browser among StatCounter’s top 5 browsers in Romania in April this year, with a market share of just 2 percent.
Among mobile browsers, Android ranked first with a market share of 42.9 percent in April this year, up from 31 percent recorded in the same month last year. Android is followed by Apple’s mobile browser for iPhones, with a share of 21.3 percent and Opera - with 15.9 percent.
Windows 7 ranks first in top 7 operating systems in Romania, with a share of over 51 percent in April this year, followed by Windows XP - with 38.8 percent. Find out more on StatCounter Gloval Stats’ website here.
