Google Glasses tested at local mobile and internet forum, Romanian minister gives them a try
Several Romanians have been given the chance to test Google's intelligent glasses in Romania before the much-anticipated product is launched next year.
Among those who tested the wearable computing technology was Information Minister Dan Nica, who attended Internet & Mobile World, an event dedicated to software and internet solutions.
Using it product’s voice command capabilities, the Minister asked the Google Glass to take a picture, saying 'OK Glass, take a picture' in his demonstration for the media and other attendees at the event.
The glasses were the highlight of the event, held on October 9 and 10 at Romexpo.
The intelligent glasses are poised for a commercial launch in the beginning of 2014, and so far have been available as a limited edition.
A group of 8,000 people have been testing them after paying USD 1,500 for a pair.
Google Glass is a wearable computer with an optical head-mounted display.
Based on vocal commands, the glasses can take pictures, record audio and video, connect to the internet and perform Google searches.
For the time being, the Google glasses are not available for retail sale in Romania or anywhere else in the world.
