The Bucharest City Hall has given the green light for a 12,000 sqm shopping center behind the Stirbey Palace on Calea Victoriei, downtown Bucharest.

The shopping center will be built in the palace's former gardens, located behind the historical building, reports local Hotnews.ro. The mall was initially planned closer to the building, and taller.

However, most recent documents submitted to the City Hall show a 20-meter wider gap between the two buildings, which will host an atrium and a pedestrian passage. The mall will also be 34.5 meters tall, compared to 40 meters in the previous plan.
