Gross minimum wage up to EUR 262 in Romania in 2016
The gross minimum wage will increase to RON 1,200 (EUR 262.9) starting from 2016, said Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
The minimum wage has gone up to RON 975 (EUR 219.3) this January and will increase to RON 1,050 (EUR 236.2) in July this year.
“Setting up a higher limit for the minimum wage, which involves more taxes, is a measure that can move something,” Ponta said, cited by local Mediafax. He made these statements during a conference on the Poverty Reduction Plan.
