Group of 50 Romanians take part in the world's largest collective artwork
Fifty Romanians participated in the Red Bull Collective Art project, the largest collective art work in the world, which measures 1.3 km - 500 meters more than the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, according to the organizers.
Andrei Toader - also known in the art world as Argaetic, Marius Alexe - also known as Francezu and Cosmic Iluc - known as The Fly, are the three Romanians who were invited to start the project. The artwork will be exhibited in several cities around the world, from London to Oslo, Mexico City and Melbourne, as well as Bucharest. Some of the works in the Red Bull Collective Art project will be exhibited in Bucharest's Old Town on May 18, for the White Night of the Museums.
For a month, Red Bull Collective Art has received more than 2,000 entries from 85 countries. The project, developed in partnership with Adobe, takes the principle of ‘Cadavre exquís’ and brings it into the digital age. This principle is a collaborative creative technique first introduced by Surrealists around 1925. It is a method by which assortments of words or images are collectively assembled. This was done in sequence, with participants able to see the end of the previous person’s contribution or following a set rule to create a unique piece of collective art.
Creative people from different fields, such as designers, artists and photographers participated in this project. More about Red Bull Collective Art here.
