Guns N’ Roses, The Cult, Machine Head, and Within Temptation are just some of the names confirmed to play at this year’s edition of the Rock the City festival, according to D&D Entertainment, organizers of the event. The music festival will take place at Romexpo, Bucharest, between June 29 and July 1, 2012.

The festival’s line-up also includes other rock acts, such as Godsmack, Black Label Society, Ugly Kid Joe, Saxon, Pentagram, Lost Prophets and Sweet Savage.

Guns N’Roses started up in Los Angeles, California in 1985. Their breakthrough album 'Appetite for Destruction', sold over 38 million copies sold worldwide, but was followed by a descent into the worst excesses of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. The albums that followed had neither the success or the vitality of Appetite for Destruction and the band split in 1993. In 2008 they released a comeback album and went back on the road. The Cult are a British rock band, formed back in 1983. The current line up is Ian Astbury - lead vocals, percussion, Billy Duffy - lead guitar, Chris Wyse - bass, and John Tempesta - drums. Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic and goth metal band founded in 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. Read more here. Godsmack are an American heavy metal band. Black Label Society is a heavy metal band formed by Zakk Wylde. The band have released so far nine studio albums, one live album, two compilation albums, one EP, and three video albums. More here. Ugly Kid Joe are an American hard rock band from Isla Vista, California. The band’s sound includes a range of styles, including rock, Californian grunge, hard rock and heavy metal. Saxon are an English heavy metal band, formed in 1976 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, while Pentagram  is also a heavy metal band from Virginia, US. Lost Prophets are a Welsh rock band from Pontypridd, formed in 1997, and Sweet Savage are a metal band formed in 1979.
