Gypsy music superstars Fanfare Ciocarlia return home for tour of Romania
Multiple award winning Romanian gypsy music band Fanfare Ciocarlia are coming home for a national tour. The group's spectacularly fast rhythms and unmissable live show will be on at The Silver Church club in Bucharest on April 24, before continuing around the country until May 1.
The tour will kick off on April 23 at Porky's Pub in Timisoara and will continue after the Bucharest gig to Cluj, Iasi, Suceava, Brasov and finally Sibiu.
With eight albums released and over 1,200 concerts during a 15 year career, Fanfare Ciocarlia have won renown throughout the world. Their music has been used numerous times in film and television, while they have performed for heads of state, Nobel Prize winners and celebrities, as well as to many packed theaters and concert halls in cities across the globe. In 2006, they won the Europe prize in the prestigious British BBC Radio World Music Awards.
