Half of a Romanian region’s population never used a computer
South-Muntenia is the only region in Romania where more than half of the inhabitants have never used a computer.
Of the 187 regions of the EU Member States for which data was available in 2013, the South-Muntenia region in Romania has the largest ratio of people who have never used a computer, according to a Eurostat study, cited by local Economica.net. A total of 51% of people in southern Romania have never used a computer, compared to the European average of 19%.
The South-Muntenia region comprises seven counties, namely Arges, Calarasi, Dambovita, Ialomita, Giurgiu, Prahova and Teleorman, and represents 14% of Romania.
