The number of Romanians who access the Internet on a smartphone or tablet increased to 48.5% between December 1 last year and February 28 this year, from 41.7% between September and November 2014.

In rural areas, 83% of those who use the Internet are people aged 14-44. In the urban areas, the Internet users over 44 reach 25%, according to the Romanian Transmedia Audit Bureau (BRAT).

The Internet has 10.5 million users in Romania, 6.8 million of whom are urbanites.

Internet users were slightly less interested in the news during this period but showed a slight increase in their interest in fashion information.

More Romanians bought online plane tickets and touristic packages during the BRAT survey period.
