Half of Romanians want to own businesses, study finds
Over half of Romanians would like to be their own bosses instead of working for other companies, according to a recent Eurobarometer. Over 40 percent of the Romanian said they would start a business if their inherited a large sum of money. The percentages were lower for Belgium and Denmark, where 30 and 32 percent respectively would like to own businesses.
However, those who are employed prefer this status due to the stable income. 32 percent of the respondents mentioned the lack of funds as the main reason for not starting a business. The lack of financing was more often mentioned by respondents in the Eastern Europe.
In Romania, 55 percent would prefer to be entrepreneur for their personal independence and 39 percent for the earnings perspective.
