Half of Romanians plan to spend Christmas at home
Almost half (48.8%) of Romanians plan to spend the Christmas holidays at home, 18% will go to their birthplaces and 12% will go to the mountains, according to a survey carried out by OLX, the biggest classifieds platform in Romania.
Less than 10% of the respondents said they will go on holiday abroad and 6% will visit a big Romanian city.
Slightly more respondents, 11.5%, plan to spend New Year’s Eve abroad. Over half (53.6%) of the respondents will spend New Year’s Eve with their families and 35% will spend this event together with friends.
Some 19% of the respondents said they plan to allot between RON 500 and RON 1,000 (EUR 107-214) for the Christmas/New Year’s holidays (for travel, accommodation and meals), 18% will spend between RON 250 and RON 500 (EUR 54-107) and 13% plan to spend under RON 250. Meanwhile, 12% have budgets between RON 1,000 and RON 2,000 (EUR 214-418) and 10% plan to spend over RON 2,000.
