Health Innovation Hub launched in Romania to boost research in the sector
Researchers in Romania will be able to connect to global innovation and research platforms thanks to the recently-launched Health Innovation Hub, an initiative of the Romanian Ministry of Health and several partners.
The Health Innovation Hub aims to become a central element in a modern healthcare system, in line with the strategic priorities of the National Health Strategy 2023-2030 - "For Health, Together."
The hub was launched by the Ministry of Health, the G6-UMF University Alliance, and the Local American Working Group. The objective is to develop research and innovation capacity for the entire healthcare sector, with tangible results that can be integrated into the provision of medical services for the benefit of Romanian patients.
Through the implementation of this national project, Romania and Romanian researchers are expected to connect to global innovation and research platforms. One of the objectives of the Health Innovation Hub is to facilitate access and exchange of best practices in health innovation in an accelerated manner, with similar structures at the international level.
The strategic directions assumed by the Health Innovation Hub for the second half of 2023 are clinical studies, education, and promotion of health in priority chronic conditions, as well as digitization in healthcare.
The first project to be carried out within the Health Innovation Hub focuses on the field of clinical studies.
"The launch of the Health Innovation Hub represents an essential step in a national project through which we aim to bring global innovation to Romania. The Ministry of Health strongly supports this project, which has a significant positive impact on society as a whole," said Alexandru Rafila, Romanian health minister, cited by HotNews.
Through the strategic projects that will be implemented, the Health Innovation Hub aims to encourage teams of Romanian researchers and entrepreneurs to develop pragmatic innovative solutions for the priorities in the healthcare field.
