Heineken sees first quarter beer sales increase in Romania

Dutch beer producer Heineken posted increasing sales in the first three months of this year on the Romanian market, according to a report published by the company. The document did not specify the value of the sales increase. In Central  and Eastern Europe, Heineken's sold volumes have increased in Belarus, Austria, Germany and Serbia, but were lower in Poland and Greece.

The company, which sells beer brands such as Golden Brau, Bucegi and Ciuc in Romania has previously announced a 7 percent increase in turnover in 2010, to EUR 267 million, while volumes sold increased by 6 percent compared to 2009 on the Romanian market.

The increase was based on sales brought by brands like Ciuc Premium and Bucegi. From April, Heineken will import other eight international brands of the group’s portfolio: Amstel, Birra Moretti, Krusovice, Foster's, Murphy's, Strongbow, Sol and Desperados.
