Hexi Pharma, EUR 11 mln contracts with Romanian hospitals in 2014-2016
Hexi Pharma, the company that has been producing and selling diluted disinfectants to local hospitals, had contracts with 152 medical units in Romania between 2014 and 2016.
The value of these contracts amounted to EUR 11.3 million, according to Romania’s General Prosecutor. The prosecutors still need to determine the damages that Hexi Pharma caused by selling diluted disinfectants to the hospitals.
The prosecutors are also investigating the death of Dan Condrea, Hexi Pharma’s owner, in a violent car crash on Sunday. According to the prosecutors, several family members have identified the disfigured car crash victim as Dan Condrea. The autopsy also revealed that the man died due to the injuries suffered in the car crash.
However, the investigators still need to figure if the crash was indeed an accident or suicide. The foul play scenario hasn’t been ruled out yet.
Part of the Romanian media has speculated that other people that may have been involved in the diluted disinfectants scandal were relieved to see Condrea dead and the sensitive information he had gone with him.
