Historic Bucharest mansion to be auctioned with EUR 5 million starting price

A historic villa in prime downtown Bucharest spot, Piata Romana, was put up for auction after owners Proconces Ro, controlled by Spanish investors, became insolvent.

The starting price at the January 25, 2012 auction is EUR 5 million without VAT, according to the judicial administrator BDO Business Restructuring. The bid guarantee is EUR 250,000 excluding VAT.

The building located at 7, Piata Romana, also called the Nanu-Muscel House, is built on a 900 sqm plot, and consists of a basement, ground and first floor. The built surface is 263.5 sqm. The building's first owner was famous Romanian doctor Ion Nanu - Muscel, who commissioned the construction of the villa  around 1911.
