H&M opens biggest fashion store in Romania
Swedish fashion retailer H&M will reopen next week its store in the Unirea Shopping Center mall, in downtown Bucharest. The shop will cover over 4,200 sqm, making it the biggest fashion store in Romania.
It has increased its surface by over 1,800 sqm following the renovation work, reports local Economica.net. The biggest H&M store in the world, which covers over 19,200 sqm, is located in New York.
H&M started the renovation and expansion of several of its key local stores over one year ago. In December 2013, it reopened its store in the AFI Palace Cotroceni shopping center, after having expanded it by 800 sqm. The shop now has 2,400 sqm.
H&M increased its sales in Romania by 38% last year, to EUR 119 million, consolidating its first position in the fashion retailers’ ranking in Romania. The company’s profit, however, was similar to that in 2013, of some EUR 5.4 million, according to official data from the Finance Ministry.
