H&M launches Romania online store
Swedish retailer H&M has launched its online store in Romania. Romanians will be able to order H&M clothes, accessories, cosmetics and home items online. “It is an important step for our development and for expanding the H&M Romania presence on more sales channels,” said Ralf Wein, Country Manager H&M Romania.
The retailer, which runs 38 traditional shops in the country, will offer free delivery on all products ordered online at hm.com until April 19, 2015.
H&M previously said it was planning to launch local online stores in a number of countries in 2015, including Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Slovakia. Together with the Romanian opening, it also launched online stores in Portugal, Poland, and the Czech Republic. During the autumn it will also open our online store in Switzerland. H&M's full most recent financial report is here.
The first step to creating an online shop for Romania was to first display prices in RON, without offering the option to order them. H&M currently offers a two to four day delivery period, and a standard delivery fee of RON 16.9 (or some EUR 3.8), irrespective of the package weight. Payment can be done by card, online, or cash upon delivery. There’s also a 30-day return policy, and a RON 4.9 return tax.
H&M is one of the international retailers with a significant footprint in Romania to have launched an online shop locally. A year ago, Zara launched its local online shop.
