The Holy Light from Jerusalem will be flown to Bucharest this year as well, on a plane rented by the Romanian Patriarchy.

The light will arrive in the Romanian capital on the evening of April 7, on the eve of the Orthodox Easter, at the Henri Coanda International Airport.

Patriarch Daniel, the head of the Romanian Orthodox Church, will offer the light at midnight to those attending the Resurrection religious service at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest.

Delegations of dioceses of the Romanian Patriarchy will deliver the light to the other areas of the country.

Romanians usually go to church on Saturday evening to attend the midnight religious ceremony marking the Resurrection of Christ, and to light their candles from the Holy Light. Then, they take the lit candles home, to bring the Holy Light into their homes and lives.
