How much do Romanian companies spend on online advertising?
Romania’s online advertising market declined by about 15% in the first half of 2015 compared to the second half of 2014.
The local companies spent some EUR 10.2 million for online advertising, in the first six months of last year, according to the most recent ROADS study by IAB Romania and PwC.
The decline may be only seasonal, as companies usually spend more on advertising in second half of the year.
The online retail segment increased its spending in the first half of 2015 compared to the second half of 2014 by about 14%, to RON 4.7 million (EUR 1.05 million). The pharmaceutical & healthcare and entertainment & the media sectors also spent more compared to the previous six months.
The biggest online advertising spender is the telecom sector, with RON 7.9 million (EUR 1.75 million).
The Romanian Online Advertising Study (ROADS) includes data from publishers and advertising companies. It doesn’t include the advertising spending on Google and other international platforms.
