How much do Romanian startup entrepreneurs earn?
Almost three-quarters of the startup entrepreneurs in Romania make less than EUR 1,000 per month, according to a study by EY Romania and Impact Hub.
About 38% of them have revenues below EUR 500.
According to the study, the typical startup entrepreneur is aged 25-35, works ten hours per day, earns less than EUR 1,000 per month and goes at least once a month to a networking event. Half of these entrepreneurs lead startups that are less than one year old.
Most entrepreneurs see bureaucracy and excessive taxation as the main obstacles for start-ups in Romania. Almost half of the respondents think that fiscal relaxation should continue and 78% believe that a lower labor taxation level would help improve the environment for start-ups.
The survey analyses the answers of 301 founders of a startup business in Romania.
