The Finance Ministry wants to draw RON 5.45 billion (EUR 1.2 billion) from commercial banks in February.

It will borrow RON 5 billion in seven treasury bills and government bonds auctions and RON 450 million through additional non-competitive offers, reports Economica.net.

The Finance Ministry also wants to attract in February EUR 500 million from banks through the issue of euro-denominated government bonds with a five-year maturity. The auction will take place on February 24.

The Ministry will use the money to refinance public debt and finance the state budget deficit.
