How will the Romanian Government help the families of those injured in the tragic nightclub fire?
The Romanian Government will grant financial aids to the families of those who are admitted in hospitals after the tragic accident at Colectiv Club in Bucharest.
According to interim Prime Minister Sorin Cimpeanu, the families of those who were transferred to hospitals abroad will receive EUR 7,500 per month while the relatives of the patients admitted in local hospitals will get RON 6,000 (EUR 1,350) per month. The Government will give this financial aid as long as the victims are admitted in hospitals.
The payments will start within 5 days from the moment the families submit their requests. The financial support might be granted from the Government’s Reserve Fund, reports local Mediafax.
“We are talking about an amount of RON 1.145 billion, or more than EUR 250 million,” the interim Prime Minister said.
The Labor Ministry is also developing a complex program of social assistance that includes the social reintegration of victims, training, and other forms of support.
The interim Government met on Monday to talk about the support program for the injured and their families.
On Monday, November 9, 83 people injured during the fire at Colectiv Club were still admitted in hospitals in Bucharest, 15 of them being in a critical condition. 35 patients have been transferred to hospitals abroad, but four of them died.
The death toll reached 46 on Monday morning when a young photo-journalist died in a clinic in Israel. Doctors warned that the number of deaths might increase in the coming period.
