Humanoid robot, gesture control armband to be presented at Bucharest’s IMWorld 2015 this October
Internet & Mobile World 2015 (IMWorld 2015) brings the newest tech inventions to Bucharest this autumn. The Gigi 3 humanoid robot, Myo gesture control armband, and the Echo phone are just some of the gadgets to be presented and tested at this year’s edition of the event.
The event’s ‘special guest’ is Gigi 3, a 1.6m tall humanoid robot that moves, dances, turns his head, watches you, and is able to have a conversation.
Gadget fans will also have the chance to see and test the Myo gesture control armband. Anyone who wears this armband can control by gestures their PC, smartphone, tablet, or any other device, through Bluetooth. MYO uses sensors and a computer technology that focuses on the electrical activity of the forearm muscles to determine the gestures.
IMWorld 2015 also brings the FS ECHO PHONE to Bucharest, a unique concept of mobile phone that can be attached to the ear. The gadget has a complementary form of the human ear. Also, the materials used to manufacture this phone allow a perfect balance between its size and weight, making it perfect for those who talk much on the phone, without requiring the use of a hands-free system.
All gadgets will be available for testing in the Innovation Area and other special areas. Participants will have the chance to test smart lighting solutions, as well as smart parking, managed Wi-Fi, and telemedicine solutions at the Telekom Romania stand.
The event’s program also includes presentations about gadgets and the latest tech news. One of the most important speakers this year is Limor Schweitzer, CEO Robosavvy, who will open the Main Stage in the second day of the event with a session called The robots are coming. He will present the 3d-printed social robot that can dance.
Some other speakers are Javier Martinez - VP of Business Development at Libelium, and Simon Gosling - Global CEO at Happy Finish.
IMWorld 2015 will take place at Romexpo in Bucharest on October 7 and October 8. The access is allowed based on pre-registration. Tickets can be purchased online here.
