Hungarian food to take over Northern Bucharest market this weekend
The Pipera market in Northern Bucharest will host between April 12 and 14 The Hungarian Food Days. Visitors will have a choice between Hungarian products, such as Gulyas, Langos, Kurtos Kalaks, pickles, sweets and eating food made on the spot in the certified biggest cooking pot in Romania, using produce from the market. Hungarian folk music and dances with over 50 artists will also warm up the atmosphere.
The organizers of the event also want to break a record by making the longest Plescavita in Romania – 2 meters long, made of 20 kilograms of meat. Plescavita is a sort of Serbian traditional hamburger made of minced meat.
The food festival is organized by the Magyar Cultural Institute, the Dan Voiculescu foundation and Grill World Romania.
The Pipera market is located on Bucuresti Nord street, at number 14. It covers some 12,000 sqm and features 200 stands, 36 gourmet and traditional shops and 30 wooden booths for Romanian traditional producers.
