Hungarian Gedeon Richter expects 5% growth in business in Romania this year
Hungarian drugs manufacturer Gedeon Richter expects a comeback of its business growth in Romania this year, with 5 percent, after the turnover in 2010 was down by 14 percent on the previous year's.
“Romania's market increases and will continue this trend. Realistically, the market in Romania will increase by 5-10 percent in value, while in Hungary the growth will be zero”, said Erik Bogsch, managing director of Gedeon Richter.
The group has an integrated activity in Romania, having a production facility, purchased in 1998 in Targu-Mures, but also distribution, retail and import. “We extend the unit in Targu-Mures, but we don’t have targets for acquisitions or plans for a factory”, said Erik Bogsch.
The total turnover in Romania rose to EUR 137.3 million last year, the retail and the distribution segments having the most important contribution.
