After two new open air skating rink recently opened in Bucharest, one in IOR Park and another on top of the newly opened Promenada mall, yet another is set to open doors just before the Christmas period. This one too has a location with a view: on top of the Unirea Shoping Center downtown Bucharest. It will be the first ice skating rink on the roof of a building in Romania.

Set to open on Friday, December 20, at 18,00, with a two-hour music show, the new skating rink will be located at the 8th floor of the building. Access will be made via elevator to the 7th floor, and then using the interior staircase to reach the last floor.

The owners of Unirea Shopping Center, the Adamescu family, which also owns the five-star Intercontinental Hotel, plan to expand the mall by also adding a cinema. The shopping centre downtown Bucharest is one of the few remaining Bucharest malls without a cinema.
