Icy weather makes four victims in Romania

The cold wave that has hit Romania in recent days has killed four people, reports local Digi24.

A man was found dead on the night from Monday to Tuesday, in a field located near the Micalaca neighborhood in Arad, western Romania. The Police haven’t identified him yet, as the man wasn’t carrying any ID document, but the doctors believe that he was around 65 years old and died due to hypothermia.

On Tuesday, a woman from Vaslui county died after being taken to the hospital in hypothermic shock. Moreover, two people from Vaslui were found dead in the snow, namely a 62-year-old man who apparently had heart problems, and a 43-year-old woman.

Romania was under alerts of extreme cold on Monday and Tuesday, with nighttime temperatures dropping to -32 degrees Celsius in Intorsura Buzalui. It was also extremely cold in Bucharest, where the temperature went down to -22 degrees Celsius on the night from Monday to Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the meteorologists issued new warnings of bad weather, which target the counties in southeastern and eastern Romania.
