IKEA records 10.5% sales growth and 11 million products sold in Romania
Furniture retailer IKEA grew its sales in Romania to some EUR 85.7 million between September 2010 and September 2011, up 10.5 percent on the earlier period, according to the company. The store welcomed 2.8 million customers and sold 11 million products in total. Furniture covered around 60 percent of the sold products, while the rest was accessories and decorations.
IKEA opened its store in Romania in 2007 under franchise, and took it over in 2010. Globally, IKEA had EUR 24.7 billion in sales, a growth of 6.9 percent compared to the previous year.
