IL Caragiale, Communist Era art and Spanish guitar to feature at Romania's National Library during night time event
An exhibition dedicated to the great Romanian playwright IL Caragiale is to feature at the upcoming Night of Libraries, on November 17/18. Cu Caragiale de la Washington la Bucuresti (With Caragiale from Washington to Bucharest) at the newly opened Romanian National Library in Bucharest (in picture) will include photographs of the play O noapte furtunoasa (A Stormy Night) being performed in the two cities as well as a graphic novel version another of IL Caragiale's works.
The photos are by journalist Madalina Corina Diaconu, while the graphic novel, based on O scrisoare pierduta (A Lost Letter), is the first such adaptation of IL Caragiale's writings and copies will be signed by the artist Mihai Grăjdeanu.
Artistul si Puterea (The Artist and Power) exhibition of Communist Era Romanian art is currently running at the National Library and will be open for the Night of Libraries. Romania Insider wrote about the fascinating exhibition The Artist and Power here.
