Il Divo pop opera quartet perform in Romania for the first time this fall
Cosmopolitan quartet of pop and opera crossover singers Il Divo will perform in Romania on September 23 this year, in Constitutiei Square. The band recently performed for the Queen Elisabeth II's jubilee in the UK and had tea with the Queen at the Windsor Palace in London.
The four performers, the Swiss tenor Urs Buhler, baritone Carlos Marin from Spain, the French pop artist Sebastien Izambard and tenor David Miller from the US will play in Romania for the fist time. The group, created by British TV producer Simon Cowell, was created in 2004 and has since sold 26 million albums worldwide.
Il Divo have 150 gold and platinum discs and have sold over 2 million concert tickets, their crossover classical album ‘Ancora’ was the only one of its genre ever to enter the US Billboard Top 200 at number one. The band's biggest concert so far was in Paraguay in 2011, when around 34,000 people attended the concert at the Defensores del Chaco stadium.
