Industrial production in Romania up 7.5% in first half

Romania's industrial production, gross series, was higher by 7.5 percent in the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2010, while in adjusted series by working days and seasonality, went up by 7.7 percent, according to the Romanian National Statistics Institute (INS).

In June, 2011, the industrial production in gross series increased compared to the same month of the previous year by 1 percent. By main industrial groups, increases were recorded in intermediate goods and energy industry, while decreases were reported in the consumer goods industry, in capital goods industry, and durable goods industry. In adjusted series by working days and seasonality, the industrial production grew up by 3.2 percent in June this year, compared to the same month last year, due to increases of extractive industry, production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, and manufacturing.

Compared to May, 2011, the industrial production recorded in June this year went down by 1.5 percent.

In adjusted series by working days and seasonality, the industrial production grew up by 3.2 percent in June this year, compared to the same month last year, due to increases of extractive industry, production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, and manufacturing.
