The new general manager of the insurance company Asirom is Mariana Diaconescu, who has held the position of vice president. She replaces Boris Schneider who resigned from this position that he held since 2005.

Before starting to work at Asirom in 2005, Mariana Diaconescu was previously president of the import-export bank Eximbank, owned by the state. Asirom, member of the Vienna Insurance Group, estimates for this year a double gross profit compared with 2010, when it was EUR 4.6 million. Late last year, the insurance company had a market share of 5 percent on the general insurance segment compared to 16.5 percent in 2004.

Vienna Insurance controls a stake representing 86 percent of the insurer’s capital.
