InterAgro to build EUR 72 million of co-generation power plants
InterAgro group, owned by Romanian businessman Ioan Niculae, will invest EUR 72 million in building co-generation power plants on industrial platforms across Romania and hopes to recover the investment in five years.
The co-generation plants will be built in Muntenia, Moldova and Transylvania and will have a total power of 81 MW. They should fuel the factories which run on industrial platforms. The group already runs two co-generation power plants in Zimnicea, and one of them serves the group's biofuel factory.
The group also plans to finalize the EIR 20 million co-generation power plant in Turnu Magurele, which will provide energy for the Donau Chem factory. The group is also working on a EUR 12 million co-generation plant in Bacau, a EUR 16 million one in Piatra Neamt and a EUR 12 million on in Fagaras.
InterAgro wants to increase its energy efficiency and reduce costs. The group runs businesses mostly in the agriculture sector.
