Interim Stelian Tanase appointed president of Romanian Televison’s board
The Romanian Parliament recently validated Stelian Tanase as president of the Romanian Television Company’s board. The vote of Senators and Deputies was secret, Tanase being validated with majority of votes - 339 in favor and 45 against, reports local Agerpres.
He was named interim at the helm of TVR in December 2013, after the previous TVR board and its president Claudiu Saftoiu were dismissed via a Parliament vote, which also rejected TVR’s 2012 activity report.
In May this year, the state – owned television company TVR considered a reduction in schedule for its employees, as well as a salary cut by a quarter, in order to save more money.
